How to get to BC Place for the World Cup
The best way to get to BC Place on match day is public transit. SkyTrain Stadium-Chinatown station is at the stadium entrance. Allow 2–3 hours from your accommodation to your seat to account for security and crowds.
BC Place hosts up to 54,500 fans on match day — that volume changes how transit, traffic and rideshare behave for several hours before and after kickoff. Planning your route in advance is the difference between a relaxed pre-match and a stressful arrival.
Public transit
SkyTrain Stadium-Chinatown station is at the stadium entrance. Buy fares in advance on the local transit app where possible to avoid queues at machines. Some host cities provide free transit on match day with a valid ticket QR code.
By rideshare
Uber, Lyft and (in Mexico) Didi all operate, but surge pricing is heavy. Drop-offs are at clearly marked zones outside the security perimeter. Pickups can take 20–40 minutes post-match — booking before final whistle locks in lower rates.
By bike or scooter
Many host cities provide bike valet at major venues, including BC Place. Check the FIFA app's match-day travel section for designated parking. Cycling avoids the worst traffic and is one of the fastest options if you live within a few kilometres.
By car
Parking is limited and expensive (see our parking guide for BC Place). If you must drive, pre-book a slot and arrive at least 3 hours before kickoff.
Walking distance from major hubs
If you are staying within central Vancouver, BC Place is typically 20–45 minutes by transit. Walking from the nearest hub to the gate is 5–15 minutes depending on entry assignment.
